Building and improving the capacities of the higher education institutions in Somalia is a key component of the SHERNet project. This includes but not limited to improving infrastructure, ICT capacities, human resources and facilitating the teaching and learning experience in the beneficiary universities. So far, the universities have received .....[what has been done in this regard].
Networking among the beneficiary universities to enhance cooperation and collaboration, and establish working groups representing each of the beneficiary universities is a crucial element of the SHERNet project. The other programs and events including trainings and workshops bring together the representatives of these institutions to discuss the challenges they have been facing in their business, and learn from each others' experiences. This is the ultimate goal of the SHERNet project, as it aims to develop the capacities of the beneficiary universities. A component of the project is geared towards the establishment of a unifying Higher Education Commission for the Somali universities, to play the role of the higher education regulator and quality assurance agent.
